How to Commission an Animal Painting

How to Commission an Animal Painting

Colourful alpaca art painting

Do you have alpacas, llamas, goats or other unusual animals that you enjoy spending time with at home? Maybe you have favourite wildlife that you regularly visit at a zoo or conservation park?

Would you like to preserve your favourite animal friends forever as a colourful painting for your home, or as a treasured gift for your animal loving friend? Commission an animal painting as a unique talking point for your home or a thoughtful gift for loved ones.

Take a look around my website at my style and colours used and if you like what you see, please get in touch to discuss how I can bring your animal friends to life for you.

Things to consider

  1. How big (or small) would you like your commissioned animal painting to be?
  2. What colours do you like? Do you want the natural colours of the animal, or do you want something in hot pink or deep purple to match your home decor? I can do either for you!
  3. Do you want a painting on watercolour paper, or a deep box canvas (these look great framed or unframed)?
  4. Do you want a framed painting, or are you happy to arrange this yourself using standard frames or a local framer?
  5. Can you provide good quality photos?

How Animal Painting Commissions Work

When you commission a painting from me, I will send you regular updates by email, with photos of the progress being made so that you can make any comments. You will be asked to approve the final painting and pay any balance due before I send it to you.

I want you to be happy with your special animal painting, so if you need some help we can discuss size, timescales, colours etc and you can email me some photos for advice before you pay anything. Please note that as commissioned animal portraits are customised for you, they are non-refundable, which reflects the amount of work that goes into them. If you would like to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit, and the balance on completion, I am happy to arrange this with you.
