These Terms and Conditions are designed to help you to understand what to expect when you buy animal art and gifts from Caroline Skinner Art. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
Original Paintings, Prints and Cards
Animal paintings, prints and cards are carefully packaged to ensure they reach you in great condition for you to enjoy. I aim to send them out to you within 3 working days of your order, and I will let you know when they are on their way.
For commissioned animal paintings and pet portraits I will agree a timeframe with you before you pay your 50% non-refundable deposit. I will keep you informed with regular progress reports and photos of the work in progress. Once you’ve approved the finished painting and paid the remaining balance, I will package and send your painting to you.
Original paintings are always sent by a trackable service. Your signature will be required on receipt. Prints and cards are sent by Royal Mail untracked service, except for orders over £20.00 when a tracked and signed service is used for your peace of mind.
All homeware gifts are made to order by my specialist UK printer and sent to you within 3 to 5 working days. I will let you know when they are on their way to you.
Damaged or Faulty Items
You must inspect the artwork immediately upon receipt and contact me within 48 hours of delivery if the Goods are damaged or faulty on receipt. You will need to provide photos of any damage as appropriate.
Where possible I will offer a replacement for items that are damaged or faulty on receipt. Alternatively, they can be returned for a full refund (including original delivery costs) plus the postal cost of returning it by insured delivery. Please package all items carefully to avoid further damage.
You will be deemed to have fully accepted the order if you fail to notify the Artist or return the Goods within 14 days of receipt.
Changing Your Mind
In addition to any other statutory rights, you have the right as a Consumer to change your mind about your purchase and receive a refund by informing me in writing or by email within 14 days of receipt of the items (this does not apply to custom orders e.g. pet portraits).
When any items are returned you must inform me you are returning them, and return the goods within a further 14 days. In this instance, items must be returned to the Artist at the Buyer’s own expense and should be carefully packaged in the original packaging or similar and sent by insured delivery. You will receive a full refund of all monies paid for the items (less the return delivery charges) within 30 days of cancellation.
If the item is not returned in its original saleable condition, Buyers are responsible for any loss in value. These Terms and Conditions comply with current UK consumer law.
Extended Refund Policy for Christmas period
For original paintings bought through this website in November and December each year, the refund period for changing your mind is extended to 15th January of the following year. Simply inform the Artist in writing by 15th January, and return the goods by 30th January, packaged as outlined in “Changing Your Mind” above.
Orders from Outside the UK
Customs and import duty fees may be payable in your country. These are outside my control and the Buyer is responsible for paying them. Please consult your local authorities for details of customs limits in your country.
Secure Online Payments
The online shop is powered by Woocommerce. Payments are processed by Paypal or Woocommerce (for credit and debit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay) to provide security to you. I will not have access to your payment details. Payment must be made in full before artwork is released for delivery.
VAT (Value Added Tax) is not payable in the UK as I am a small trader and not VAT-registered.
From 1st July 2021 changes to the VAT and Customs collection systems for the EU mean that unfortunately I am no longer able to ship orders to EU countries from this website. However, European customers can still buy my exclusive collections in my Contrado and Redbubble stockists instead. See my other stockists page for more details.
Please double check that you enter the correct delivery address at checkout, as I am not responsible if your parcel is lost as a result of you giving me the wrong address. Delivery costs are given here.
